What a year for VG Meats!
Happy New Year!

2018 has been a wild ride for us here at VG Meats, in the best possible way. We’ve introduced some big things, had some good times and enjoyed every second along the way (well, most of them). Let’s take a quick look back at some VG wins from 2018 before moving on to an even better 2019!
Farm to City
Customers have been asking for home delivery for as long as we can recall, and it took some time to make it work. This year, we introduced our Farm to City – our new online store and home delivery program. It’s been a huge success thus far and we couldn’t be happier about it. Here’s to expanding our delivery zones in 2019!
Pasture-raised chickens
VG has been selling pasture-raised chickens for a while now, and this year yielded some amazing results. Here’s a great video of Cory explaining why a beef farm raises chickens and how they work together to keep the animals and the farm in great condition.
Ruth’s Turkeys
Oldest brother Cory Van Groningen is dedicated to teaching the next generation of VGs about life on the farm, and he finds some amazing ways to make this happen. This year, Cory’s daughter Ruth raised some turkeys ahead of Thanksgiving. You can watch a great video about that here – well done, Cory and Ruth!
Expanding our horizons
This summer, we announced that select VG Meats products would be sold in Farm Boy and Metro locations. We are also being sold in some Goodness Me locations across Ontario. There are now so many ways to get VG Meats in your home – online, in our stores, and through larger retailers.
This is just a quick look at some of the many amazing things that went on at VG Meats in 2018. We also expanded our Ontario produce section in Stoney Creek, had a chili cook-off on Super Bowl weekend and lots more. It will be a hard year to top, but we’re ready!
3, 2, 1…Happy New Year!
Don’t forget to pick up or order everything you need for New Years Eve – time is running out! Come see us in store or visit www.vgfarmtocity.ca to place an online order for those final holiday gatherings and New Year’s Eve celebrations. (Or, just stock up the fridge for those first few weeks of January – you’ll need a break from shopping after the holidays, trust us!)
As we say goodbye to 2018, we’d like to say one final thank all of our incredible customers and their families. We couldn’t operate our business without your support. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, and all the best for 2019!
