Guest Foodie Recipe: Pulled Pork Hot Dogs!

October 28, 2016

Jason Mayo knows good food. If his name wasn’t enough, the Haldimand region native and local food lover is proud to call Jarvis Ontario home and loves the delicious bounty his home has to offer. One of his favourite meat shops? You guessed it – VG Meats! He recently created a delicious recipe using our hot dogs and pulled pork (which we also make and highly recommend purchasing for this recipe) and as soon as we saw a photo of it, we knew we had to try it! He happily shared his masterpiece with us and now we are sharing it with you!

Want to make this delicious, mouth-watering pulled pork hot dog recipe at home? It’s easy!

hotdog

Ingredients:

6 VG Pork Jumbo Hotdogs

6 buns, pre-cut

1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup of French fried onions

Sliced pickles for topping (12 sandwich sliced pickles, 2 on each hotdog)

1 cup of pulled pork (heated) — *We recommend picking up our prepared VG Meats pulled pork!*

Method:

Brown hotdogs on all sides in a frying/grill pan on the stove, or on the bbq (should take 5 minutes). Place one cooked hotdog in each bun, top each with 2 tablespoons of pulled pork, then top with pickles, then sprinkle with desired amount of shredded cheese, and put place onto a cookie sheet. Broil in oven until cheese is melted and bubbling. Remove from oven, top with French fried onions, and serve immediately.

From the VG’s and Jason Mayo — “You’re Welcome!”
Happy MEATing!
