5 Great Foods For Your Super Bowl Party

February 1, 2018

Whether you’re rooting for the Eagles or the Patriots (or even just interested in watching the halftime show), there’s one thing we can all agree on this Super Bowl Sunday – the food has to be amazing. A great spread, some craft beer and maybe even a Jalapeno Margarita to spice things up – anything goes, as long as it’s good. Here are our picks for Super Bowl party foods that will please everyone, win or lose.

Mmm, Nachos.

Nachos are classic Super Bowl food and a guaranteed hit with your guests. Try them with ground beef, sharp cheddar cheese and jalapenos; go with shredded chicken, Monterey Jack and green onions, or try these mouth-watering loaded nachos. No matter what meat and cheese you choose, don’t forget the sour cream or the guacamole (because we all know that guac is the real star of any nacho plate).

Chicken Wings

All delicious chicken wings start with our VG Meats Jumbo Split Tip Chicken Wings. They’re huge, they’re juicy, and they cook up just right. Whether you like Honey Garlic, Chipotle, Mild BBQ or something crazy-hot, our chicken is the perfect base. Here’s a great list of recipes to check out!

Sausage Puffs

These sweet, salty, savoury meat puffs are as full of nostalgia as they are full of sausage. This is a great recipe that works well with any VG Meats sausage, from our classic Farmer Sausage to our Spicy Texas Pork Sausage. Here’s a great recipe for a slightly upscale, easy version of this ‘80s party classic.

Pulled Pork

You can make this at home using great pork roasts from VG Meats, or buy some pre-made pulled pork from our frozen section (just heat and serve). It’s a delicious crowd-pleaser that won’t leave any leftovers – trust us.

Chili – and the VG Meats Chili Bowl!

Chili is delicious on fries, on nachos, or served on its own. Need some chili recipe inspiration? Come down to the VG Meats Chili Bowl in Stoney Creek on Saturday, February 3rd (the day before Super Bowl). We’ll have samples from all Chili Bowl entrants available for you to try from 11am until 2pm (or whenever samples run out). It’s going to be a great time, and your votes will decide the winner (read all the details here).
